White Glove Weddings
We are pleased
to present…
There are paths that do not begin with a decision, but with a sensitivity.
In the case of White Glove Weddings, everything existed long before the brand itself. It grew from a natural attention to detail, from the way a space can transform emotions, and from the rare ability to create environments where people feel truly present.
Behind the brand is Mónica, whose connection to the world of events emerged organically. She was always the one bringing people together, creating moments, and understanding that true luxury is not only what is seen — but what is felt. Over time, this sensitivity became purpose.
Her background in design gave structure to what was already instinctive: a refined eye for aesthetics, balance, and proportion. But it is in the union of technique and emotion that her work gains depth — creating experiences where every detail is considered, even when everything feels effortless.
The creation of White Glove marked a turning point. Born during one of the most challenging periods in the industry, it was a decision driven by vision and courage. Where many saw uncertainty, Mónica saw an opportunity to raise standards and build a brand aligned with what she truly believes in: a more conscious, more demanding, and deeply personalised service.
Today, White Glove stands as a reference in destination weddings, with couples from all over the world choosing Portugal as the setting for their celebration. More than planning weddings, the team creates complete experiences — where culture, aesthetics, and emotion intersect in a fluid and intentional way.
Every project begins with listening. Real listening — one that goes beyond the obvious and seeks to understand expectations, emotions, and nuances. From there, everything is built: with precision, sensitivity, and an almost intuitive attention to detail.
Here, excellence is not displayed — it is felt. It lives in the fluidity of the day, in the absence of visible disruption, in the way every moment unfolds effortlessly. It lies in the ability to anticipate, adjust, and ensure that everything happens exactly as it should.
The name White Glove itself reflects this philosophy: a service where care is absolute, discretion is essential, and every gesture is intentional.
Because, in the end, a wedding is not just an event.
It is a collection of irreplaceable emotions, of lasting memories, and of relationships that continue long after the day is over.
And it is precisely there that White Glove finds its true purpose — to create experiences with elegance, intention, and meaning, that remain in time with the same subtlety with which they were lived.
Where every moment is handled with care…
Mónica, with over 20 years of experience in events, what led you to this field?
It was a path that began even before I realized it was one. I grew up surrounded by hospitality, beautifully set tables, and people gathered around special moments. I have always been fascinated by how a detail, a light, a flower, or a gesture can completely transform an experience. Over the years, that sensitivity became a purpose.
In truth, it all started very organically. I was always the person bringing people together, organizing gatherings, celebrations, and moments shared among friends. There was something deeply natural in creating environments where people felt comfortable, welcomed — almost as if time slowed down.
With time, I realized that this sensitivity, this attention to detail, to atmosphere, to what is not seen but felt, could become a profession. And so it did.
Having an academic background in design allowed me to refine what was already instinctive — a sharp eye for detail, aesthetics, and ergonomics.
What began as a pleasure in bringing people together evolved into a career dedicated to creating experiences with intention, elegance, and meaning.
How did you grow professionally to lead White Glove? Were there challenges that shaped the way you work today?
My growth was built on consistency and high standards. I worked in very different contexts, often demanding ones, which taught me to anticipate, to structure, and above all, to maintain a high level regardless of the circumstances. Challenges brought clarity, and today I work with serenity, precision, and an almost intuitive attention to detail.
What led you to found White Glove as a distinct brand, and what defines you as professionals of excellence?
White Glove was born from a very clear vision, but also from a deep desire to grow and do things differently. I have always had a strong entrepreneurial spirit. I never identified with predictable paths, but rather with building something with its own identity.
Interestingly, the brand took shape during one of the most challenging moments the industry has ever faced — during the pandemic. While many businesses were closing, I decided to open. It was a decision that raised doubts and criticism, even concern, but for me, it made complete sense. I saw not an ending, but an opportunity to reinvent, elevate standards, and create a brand aligned with what I truly believe in.
Today, White Glove is the reflection of that courage. A service where everything is carefully considered, where aesthetics meet strategy, and where each project is treated with a level of care and personalization that defines, for us, the true meaning of excellence.
How did you build the White Glove team? What values do you look for?
A team is not built on talent alone — it is built on alignment. I look for people with aesthetic sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and a deep sense of responsibility. We work with emotions, with once-in-a-lifetime moments, and that requires rigor, empathy, and an exceptional ability to care.
Beyond technical skills, I value attitude, commitment, and the ability to work with discretion and elegance — essential qualities in a premium service.
We invest in continuous training focused on detail, communication, and client experience, supported by a strong culture where everyone shares the goal of exceeding expectations.
We are a young, motivated team with a great working environment and, although it may sound cliché, we truly function like a family.
What was your first destination wedding, and what do you remember from it?
Our first destination wedding was much more than a wedding — it was deeply meaningful. In 2005, we organized, in the Netherlands, the wedding of two women at a time when same-sex marriage was not yet legal in Portugal. It was a project filled with emotion, courage, and symbolism, and it marked me profoundly both professionally and personally.
Years later, already in Portugal, we had the privilege of organizing the wedding of American actor Navid Negahban in 2023 — a moment that, in many ways, consolidated our position in the international market.
Since then, there has been a natural evolution: today, around 90% of the weddings we organize are destination weddings. Portugal has become the stage for stories from all over the world, and we have the privilege of turning them into truly memorable experiences.
What motivates you with each new wedding?
Every wedding is unique. Different stories, different people, and irreplaceable emotions. What motivates me is precisely that singularity — the opportunity to create something exclusive that reflects each couple’s essence.
At the same time, there is something else that deeply fascinates me: cultural diversity. Working with couples from different backgrounds is always enriching. Each culture brings its own rituals, meanings, and sensitivities.
In a way, it feels like traveling the world without leaving Portugal — and that is one of the greatest gifts of this profession.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned?
That true excellence lies in listening. Understanding what is not said, reading expectations, and transforming emotions into experiences — that is perhaps our greatest responsibility.
What are Portugal’s greatest strengths as a wedding destination?
Portugal has a natural elegance. The light, the landscapes, the authenticity of its gastronomy, and its genuine hospitality all contribute to a deeply sensory experience. It is a country that is not explained — it is felt.
Beyond that, there is an extraordinary diversity of settings: vineyards, character-filled estates, palaces, castles, ruins, and breathtaking beaches.
This richness allows for entirely distinct experiences, always with a strong identity — and that is what makes Portugal so special.
Is Portugal already recognized internationally as a top wedding destination? What still needs improvement?
Portugal is undoubtedly on the international radar. There is growing recognition of its beauty and potential. The next step is to further consolidate consistency and sophistication in service, elevating the destination as a whole.
Is there a moment that still moves you?
Many. But it is often the quiet moments — a glance, a pause, a gesture — that stay forever.
And then there are the relationships that remain. Over the years, we build connections that go beyond the event. That, in the end, is the greatest recognition — knowing we were part of something meaningful that continues beyond the celebration.
What advice would you give to couples choosing Portugal?
Trust the process and choose partners who truly understand your vision. A wedding is more than a day — it is an experience built with time, detail, and intention.
Any future plans for White Glove?
More than projects, we have an ongoing ambition: to evolve without losing our essence. To continue creating increasingly refined experiences, exploring new destinations, and elevating the concept of personalized service.
At the same time, we are investing intentionally in in-house services. This year, we strengthened areas such as design and marketing, bringing new capabilities that allow us to offer a more cohesive and integrated experience.
It is a path of conscious growth, where every decision is made to deepen quality and strengthen the identity of White Glove.
