Cristina and Filipe, how did you come up with the idea of creating Timeless Studio and dedicating yourselves to wedding photography?

We share a very close relationship and truly enjoy working side by side. Timeless Studio was born out of our desire to merge something we both loved and pursued with passion and excellence - something that would bring joy and lasting value to those who entrust us with their memories.

From the very first wedding we photographed together, we knew this was the path we wanted to follow. Wedding photography allows us to intertwine so much of who we are, what we love, what we believe in, and what makes us truly happy.

Having different backgrounds, how do you balance your artistic visions?

Our artistic visions naturally complement one another, converging into a shared language that defines and distinguishes our work. Cristina gravitates towards portraits, details, and close-ups, while Filipe, with his background in architecture, has a strong appreciation for wider perspectives - capturing couples and families within the atmosphere and space they have chosen.

On a wedding day, we intentionally use different lenses, allowing these distinct perspectives to merge into a body of work that is diverse, layered, and truly unique. Both of us share a refined sense of aesthetics, a love of beauty, harmony, and balance, and a constant search for authenticity in people and moments of happiness. Our wedding collections are a blend of detail and portraiture, spontaneous candid moments and more editorial compositions - all seamlessly connected to create a cohesive visual narrative. It is in this balance, born from our diversity and harmony, that our vision truly comes to life.

The name Timeless Studio conveys the idea of something timeless... what makes photography truly timeless for you?

The name Timeless reflects what photography means to us, and what marriage itself represents, something eternal, magical, and immeasurably valuable. For us, photography has the power to stop time while allowing it to be relived again and again. Portraits and human emotions, love, joy, connection, are universally understood, enduring across generations.

To freeze time is to transform a fleeting moment into an everlasting memory. For us, marriage is the ultimate symbol of love, joy, and union. Like all essential values, it never goes out of style - it remains valid, eternal, and beautiful, regardless of the era. Love will always be love. And a photograph will always encapsulate that feeling too, like a time machine, keeping memories alive and easing future longing. A true icon of love, forever.

What do you consider essential to capture the essence of the couple on their big day?

Connection. The bond between the couple, and the one we create with them, is absolutely key. When couples feel comfortable with us, they are more open to being themselves, without fear, pressure, or hesitation. Trust and commitment are essential for everything to flow naturally.

We want every couple to truly enjoy the experience of being photographed and filmed by us. When they look back at their images, we want them to not only see the memories but also feel the joy of those moments - reliving them with family and friends.

Capturing essence means understanding each couple’s unique needs and values, both individually and as a pair. It requires presence, sensitivity, and the ability to perceive how they feel, often without them having to say a word.

What was the biggest challenge you faced when photographing a wedding and how did you overcome it?

One of the most delicate situations we have faced is when an immediate family member, such as a parent or sibling - was unexpectedly unable to attend the wedding. These moments require deep sensitivity and humanity. Our challenge is to ensure that this absence does not overshadow the joy of the day, while helping the bride or groom feel loved, safe, and supported.

The way we overcome it is by being fully present, offering comfort, and gently guiding the focus back to the positive emotions of the celebration.

Is there a specific wedding or moment that has left a special mark on your career?

Yes, several. One that deeply moved us was when a bride told us her grandmother, who was gravely ill, had asked for her granddaughter’s wedding album in her final days. It was one of the things she wanted close to her before passing—so she could take all those beautiful memories with her.

Another was a groom who lost his mother shortly after the wedding. He wrote to us saying that the photographs we had created with her were among his most cherished treasures. Moments like these remind us of the true weight and meaning of our work. Photographs and films are not only about the present - they become bridges to the past and future, keeping the people we love alive in memory and spirit.

What are the current trends in photography that excite you the most?

We are not particularly focused on “trends.” What inspires us most are aesthetics that remain timeless - images that couples will connect with 10, 15, 20 years from now.

That said, we are drawn to the growing appreciation for more natural editing, subtle color palettes, and the enduring beauty of black and white. We also love imagery with movement, spontaneity, and emotion, as well as the blending of fashion/editorial influence with a more candid, joyful style.

How do you see the future of wedding photography?

We believe the future of wedding photography is bright, with increasing recognition of the artistry and professionalism behind it. Technology has made photography more accessible than ever, but capturing weddings is not simply about pressing a button - it requires creativity, sensitivity, dedication, and experience.

We are confident that photography and film will continue to gain value, both for the memories they preserve and for the professionals who craft them with skill, heart and vision.

What is the greatest compliment or feedback you have ever received for your work?

Several couples have gone so far as to reschedule their wedding dates to align with our availability.

Knowing that they cannot imagine their day without us is the highest compliment. It reaffirms the trust they place in us and the importance of the role we play in their celebration and memories.

What can clients expect when they hire Timeless Studio for their wedding?

Couples can expect far more than two photographers. We want them to feel as though they are being photographed and filmed by friends—yet with the professionalism, artistry, and dedication they deserve.

They can expect a lighthearted and joyful experience, guided with care and creativity. On the wedding day, we become an “extension of their eyes,” preserving every meaningful detail so they can relive it again and again.

Above all, they can count on us to deliver not only beautiful images, but lasting memories that will be treasured for a lifetime and passed down through generations.

We always have new projects in the works - some within Timeless Studio, others branching into events and weddings more broadly. Creativity is at the heart of everything we do. What we can promise is that whatever we pursue, it will always be rooted in authenticity, love, and gratitude.
