How was The Santos Weddings born?
Before we began photographing weddings, we spent many years in the fashion world. There we learned something essential: photography is not only about images it’s about understanding people. We know how nervous someone can feel in front of the camera, and we know how to transform that tension into confidence.
We wanted to bring this experience into wedding photography. Because a wedding is not about professional models – it’s about real people, living one of the most emotional days of their lives. And that’s the magic: our couples are not models, yet in our photographs they look like they stepped straight out of an editorial.
Why? Because we highlight what’s already there – the elegance, the emotion, the connection. For us, weddings are not only celebrations, but also stages of beauty and intimacy. Classy, modern, elegant – always with that touch of editorial that turns memories into something timeless.
The rebranding from CK Creation to The Santos Weddings was a significant change. What motivated this transition, and what do you aim to convey with this new identity?
CK Creation was the beginning of our creative journey – a playground where we explored many styles and ideas. But over time, we realized that our work had evolved into something more personal, more focused, more connected to who we truly are.
That’s why The Santos Weddings was born. It carries our name, our identity, and our vision. It reflects the way we approach every couple:
Inspired by the personal and the individual, fueled by fashion for modern romantics.
For us, this means every wedding is a unique narrative shaped by the couple’s story, but elevated through our editorial and fashion-driven perspective. The rebranding was not just a new name it was a declaration of our essence: authentic, refined, and timeless.
How would you describe your photographic style and vision?
Our style is more than just a way of taking pictures – it is the reflection of how we see people. Every couple we meet is personal and unique, and our vision is to make sure their individuality shines through in every image.
We call it editorial and emotional: inspired by fashion, yet always rooted in authenticity. It’s about finding the elegance in real emotions, and the beauty in unscripted moments.
Just as no two couples are alike, no two weddings look the same through our lens. What connects them all is our signature approach: timeless, refined, and always elevated – because every love story deserves to be told as personally and uniquely as the people living it.
What is the secret to transforming a simple recording into memories full of meaning?
It’s empathy. We don’t just press a button; we connect. We notice the nervous laughter, the quiet glance, the way two hands find each other.
Through our editorial approach, we transform those fleeting moments into iconic imagery. A photograph becomes meaningful when it feels both real and elevated – when it captures not only how you looked, but how you felt.
Having worked in so many different countries, how do you adapt your work to distinct cultures and traditions without losing your essence?
Every culture inspires us. A wedding in Portugal feels different from one in Germany, Mexico, or in Italy – and that’s the beauty of it. We adapt respectfully to each tradition, but our editorial vision gives all of our work a timeless, international character.

You are based in Portugal and Germany — how does the culture of both countries influence your professional approach?
Portugal gives us light, passion, spontaneity and warmth. Germany brings structure, reliability, and precision. Together they create the perfect balance for our work.
This duality is at the heart of our editorial look – a harmony between raw feeling and refined style.
Which wedding do you consider the most challenging you’ve captured, and what did you learn from that experience?
Every wedding is unique, and with each one we learn something new. Especially when different cultures come together, each with its own traditions, energy, and way of celebrating love, we grow as storytellers.
For us, these differences are not challenges – they are opportunities. Opportunities to see the world through our couples’ eyes, to understand rituals that may be new to us, and to translate them into timeless imagery.
There is no wedding too complex, no culture too unfamiliar. We embrace it all, because every detail adds depth to the story. And that is why we believe: there is no challenge we cannot master – only moments waiting to be captured.
What has been the most important or memorable feedback about your work, and why?
"You weren’t just our photographers – you felt like family."
For us, that is the essence of what we do. We don’t aim to create perfect images; we aim to create personal ones. Photographs that show couples as they truly are – authentic, unique, and yet elevated with an editorial elegance.
But what makes our work truly meaningful is the connection we build. We are not just your photographers or videographers – we become friends, part of your day, sharing in the laughter, the emotions, the celebration. Many couples tell us it felt like having family by their side – and that is the greatest compliment we could ever receive.
For you, what makes a love story truly unforgettable?
Authenticity. We believe a love story is unforgettable when it is told honestly – with laughter, with tears, with imperfect moments that become perfect in memory.
Our editorial look doesn’t change who couples are. It elevates their truth, frames it in elegance, and makes it iconic. That’s what turns a wedding into a legacy.
What future projects or dreams might we expect to hear about?
Our dream is to keep telling love stories in a way that feels timeless, editorial, and deeply personal. We want to continue traveling the world, meeting couples from different cultures, and turning their individuality into art.
At the same time, we dream of pushing wedding photography even further – blurring the line between documentary and editorial, between memory and art. Workshops, creative collaborations, and projects that inspire us and others are part of this vision.
Because in the end, our biggest dream is simple: to transform love into something unforgettable, something lasting, something iconic.
