We are pleased
to present…
Some memories fade. Others remain — quietly, deeply, almost imperceptibly.
Founded by Bárbara and Tiago — partners in both life and work — Mémorelle Weddings was born from a rare intention: to preserve not only what is seen, but what is felt.
Based in Lisbon and working internationally, they approach each celebration as silent interpreters of what truly matters — the atmosphere, the subtle gestures, the shared energy, the pauses between words.
Their visual language is defined by a restrained, natural, and deeply timeless aesthetic. Documentary is their foundation, shaped through a cinematic sensitivity and a refined awareness of light, composition, and rhythm. It is within this balance — between the spontaneous and the intentional — that Mémorelle finds its voice.
Working across both photography and film, they combine digital, 35mm, Super 8, and cinematic video to build cohesive, organic narratives. The result is not simply a record of the day, but a layered sensory memory — where image, sound, and movement come together with quiet precision.
Their presence is discreet, almost invisible. They do not interrupt or impose — they observe. And in that space, something rare happens: moments unfold as they are, untouched and entirely true.
More than documenting a wedding, Mémorelle preserves what often goes unnoticed — the fleeting, the fragile, the deeply human.
Not just what happened, but what remained.
Not just moments. What stays…
Bárbara & Tiago, the Mémorelle Weddings project was founded in 2015. How would you describe your original vision when you started, and how has it evolved over time?
When we founded Mémorelle in 2015, we were driven by a very clear intention: to create meaningful memory. Not just beautiful images, but narratives that preserve the emotional truth of an unrepeatable day.
Over the years, our vision has matured. It has become more refined, more conscious, and more quiet. Today, we work with a timeless aesthetic and a deeply intuitive approach — less focused on spectacle and more on the essence of each story.
Your work combines photography and video in an integrated way. When did you realise this approach was the best way to tell wedding stories?
We understood early on that memory is not one-dimensional. Photography freezes the moment; video brings back its movement, breath, and sound.
By working in a hybrid and complementary way, we ensure a cohesive and sensitive narrative. It is not about producing more content, but about creating a visual experience that feels organic and emotionally complete.
The word “destination” appears frequently in your portfolio — what does it mean for you to capture a wedding that takes place outside the couple’s comfort zone?
A destination wedding is almost always a conscious and intimate choice. It involves intention, travel, and often a guest list limited to those who truly matter.
Capturing a wedding in this context means embracing new landscapes, new light, and different cultures, but above all preserving the emotional core of the couple. The place changes; the essence remains.
Standing out in a competitive market like wedding photography and videography is not easy. What do you believe distinguishes you in terms of vision, technique, and storytelling?
Our gaze is contemplative. We observe before we intervene.
Aesthetically, we seek a clean language, with natural tones and restrained editing. Narratively, we are drawn to the in-between moments — subtle gestures, shared silences, glances that almost go unnoticed. It is in this delicacy that we find truth.
What continues to motivate you in this intense and sometimes emotionally demanding work?
The awareness of the privilege of being invited into one of the most meaningful days of someone’s life.
It is demanding work — physically and emotionally — but deeply human. Each wedding reminds us why we started: to tell stories that deserve to be remembered.
Looking back, what has been the most important professional lesson you’ve learned over the years as visual storytellers?
We have learned that trust is the central element of any true narrative.
When there is trust — between us, the couple, and the entire team — everything flows naturally. Technique is essential, but sensitivity is what sustains memory.
Do you feel that destination weddings allow for a different emotional openness from couples?
Without a doubt. Travel creates an atmosphere of intimacy and presence. Being away from their daily lives allows couples to experience the day with greater intensity.
There are fewer distractions, less formality — and more truth.
Have you ever turned down a project because you felt there wasn’t creative alignment? What is non-negotiable for you?
Yes. We deeply believe in the importance of alignment.
It is non-negotiable for us to work in an environment of respect, trust, and creative freedom. We do not resonate with overly staged or intrusive approaches. We need space to observe and feel before capturing.
What do you silently hope from a couple so that your approach works at its fullest?
We hope for surrender. Not to the camera, but to the moment.
When a couple chooses to live the day with presence and authenticity, our work becomes almost invisible — and that is precisely where the images gain depth.
Is there something you wish couples knew before being photographed or filmed — but that is rarely said?
That there is no “right way” to be in front of a camera.
We do not expect performance or perfection. Beauty lies in the imperfection of spontaneous gestures, in raw emotion, in unexpected laughter. That is what makes a memory timeless.
If you had to define your work in one non-technical sentence, what would it be and why?
We preserve how the day was felt.
Because we believe that, years later, it is not the aesthetic that remains — it is the emotion.
Are there any future projects you can share with us?
We want to continue expanding our journey in destination weddings across Europe and beyond, while deepening our work with film — 35mm and Super 8 — as a natural extension of our language.
More than growing in volume, we seek to grow with intention.
