The journey began with organizing corporate events across Europe — work that quickly revealed something greater: a passion for creating memorable moments that truly touch the heart. When her partner suggested that this passion could be channeled into weddings, the agency was born. From Portugal, it soon expanded to France and other European destinations, with a clear focus: celebrating love in dreamlike settings, with excellence and soul.
Portugal was a natural choice. The first visit, in 2009, revealed a country of light, texture, and poetry — a place where one learns to slow down, to savor each moment, and to experience every ceremony as a ritual of full presence. Portuguese culture inspired not only the desire to live there, but also the creative philosophy brought into every celebration she plans. This intimate connection with time, space, and emotion is what sets apart the way each wedding is imagined and executed.

What inspired you to pursue a career in wedding planning and to found Dream Weddings Europe?
My journey into wedding planning happened quite naturally. While working as a travel agent, I had the opportunity to organize corporate gatherings across Europe, which sparked my love for creating memorable events. Over time, my partner from France suggested we expand into weddings, and together we launched Dream Weddings Europe, focusing initially on Portugal and France. It was the perfect blend of my event planning experience and our shared passion for celebrating love in the most beautiful destinations.
What motivated you to establish Dream Wedding Europe in Portugal, and how does Portuguese culture influence your work?
I fell in love with Portugal during my first visit back in 2009 - it instantly felt like a dream destination and a place I could call home. Moving here was a natural step, and it aligned perfectly with my vision of starting a wedding planning agency. Portuguese culture has had a profound influence on both my personal life and my work. Living here taught me to slow down, savor the moment, and truly be present - values that I now bring into every wedding I plan. While the pace of life felt slow at first, I’ve grown to embrace and love it, as it allows me to focus on creating meaningful, unforgettable experiences for my clients.
Although you started in Portugal, you’ve expanded to several European countries... could you share some of the challenges you faced in adapting your services to different cultures and markets?
Expanding to different European countries has been an exciting journey, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. The primary hurdle has been navigating language barriers. While working in Portugal is seamless with English, countries like France and Italy often require a deeper understanding of their native languages to connect fully with local vendors. Despite this, we’ve always risen to the occasion, leveraging our network, cultural sensitivity, and dedication to ensure every wedding is executed with grace and perfection. These experiences have only strengthened our ability to adapt and deliver exceptional results, no matter the location.
In your opinion, what are the key criteria to ensure that Dream Wedding Europe’s high standards are consistently maintained?
Maintaining Dream Weddings Europe’s high standards comes down to a few key criteria. First and foremost, it’s about truly understanding our clients’ visions and personalizing every detail to reflect their unique love story. Communication is another cornerstone - keeping an open, transparent, and proactive dialogue with both clients and vendors ensures that everyone is aligned. Additionally, we work only with trusted, high-quality vendors who share our commitment to excellence. Finally, our team’s dedication to meticulous planning, creative problem-solving, and staying calm under pressure allows us to deliver flawless events every time. It’s this combination of passion, precision, and professionalism that ensures our standards are consistently upheld.

My approach to planning luxury weddings is deeply rooted in my personal experiences. Before founding Dream Weddings Europe, I worked in luxury car sales, where delivering the highest possible standards of service was non-negotiable. I had the privilege of working with high-profile clients, including politicians, celebrities, and oligarchs, which taught me the nuances of catering to discerning tastes and exceeding expectations. It was a demanding role, but it instilled in me an impeccable understanding of luxury service culture. This experience has shaped my commitment to excellence, and it’s why I’ve dedicated myself to working with clients who value the same level of sophistication and attention to detail.
How do you incorporate specific traditions from different nationalities into the weddings you plan?
There are countless ways to incorporate traditions from different nationalities into the weddings we plan. From music, cuisine, and décor to favors, stationery, dress codes, and more, the possibilities are truly endless. We pride ourselves on never limiting our creativity and always tailoring our approach to each couple’s preferences. Whether they’re looking for something unique and unexpected or a timeless, classical touch, we’re always excited to suggest ideas that honor their heritage and make their celebration truly special. Our goal is to seamlessly blend cultural traditions with the couple’s personal style, creating a wedding that feels authentic and unforgettable..

There’s a moment at every wedding that deeply moves me - the heartfelt appreciation from our couples and their guests. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the joy and gratitude on their faces, knowing we’ve played a part in creating such a meaningful day. What makes this profession even more special is the lasting relationships we build with some of our clients. Many brides and grooms become more than just clients - they stay connected with us for years, following us on Instagram, sharing our posts, and even reaching out when they’re nearby or when we’re in their city. Hearing updates about their growing families and seeing their marriages thrive is truly heartwarming. These moments of connection and seeing the lasting happiness we’ve helped create reaffirm my passion for what I do every single day.
If you could go back in time and give your younger self one piece of advice at the beginning of your career, what would it be?
If I could go back in time, I’d tell my younger self: don’t take wedding planning too personally. It’s easy to become so emotionally invested in our clients’ journeys, especially when we build such close relationships with them, that we forget this is our job, not our personal life. While that connection is a beautiful part of the work, it’s also important to set boundaries to protect your mental health. Learning to balance empathy with professionalism is key to thriving in this industry without burning out.
What kind of legacy do you hope to leave in the luxury wedding industry?
I hope to leave a legacy of transparency, fairness, and honesty in the luxury wedding industry. My dream is for wedding planning services to be more open and straightforward, where clients feel completely confident and supported throughout the process. By setting a standard of integrity and trust, I want to inspire others in the industry to prioritize genuine connections and ethical practices. Ultimately, I hope my work contributes to a future where luxury weddings are not only breathtakingly beautiful but also built on a foundation of respect and authenticity.
