Cabracega The Storytellers
PHOTOGRAPHERS
When we think of “filming love,” we don’t always grasp the full meaning of the expression. What CabraCega The Storytellers does is exactly that: transform love into a film, capturing not just the moment, but what is felt, what endures, what fades with time yet remains alive.
Based in Caldas da Rainha and serving weddings across the country, they describe themselves as guests on the big day — invisible to the eye, present in the feeling.
From state-of-the-art equipment to drone usage, from full coverage to cinematic trailers, CabraCega combines technique, aesthetics, and emotion. Filming weddings for over 20 years, developing a distinctive visual identity, creating “handmade,” moving, timeless films — this is their journey.
Their promise is simple yet powerful: to capture the authentic essence of your day, so that every time you watch the video, you feel it all over again. A hug, a tear, a laugh — immortalized.
CabraCega’s style? While many get lost in poses, they capture the instant. While others film the event, they film the story. Documentary, authorial, cinematic — all descriptions that fit them perfectly.
For couples looking for a video that is not just “beautiful,” but alive, breathing, and transporting, CabraCega is a benchmark choice. If you want the film of your day — not just a video, but a visual legacy — delivered with art, soul, and professionalism, here it is: CabraCega The Storytellers. Because some stories deserve more than a record. They deserve eternity.

Afonso, Brígida, Fábio — how did you meet, and how did you consciously come together to create this project?
We met around 15 or 16 years ago during our undergraduate studies at ESAD in Caldas da Rainha. Fábio and Afonso were studying Sound and Image, while Brígida was in the Design and Multimedia course. Today, Afonso and Brígida are a couple, and Fábio has maintained a very close friendship with Afonso since college—sharing a similar vision in the audiovisual field. Together, they developed various projects, from short films to corporate and commercial films. Between 2016 and 2019, they worked at the same audiovisual production company, based in Oeiras. It was during this period, between 2017 and 2018, that the CABRACEGA project emerged, initially running alongside their work at the production company. In 2019, with Afonso’s departure, the project gained new momentum and consolidated in the wedding industry.
When you decided to found CabraCega The Storytellers in 2017, what did you imagine for the future?
Our goal has always been to combine a cinematic vision with a love for storytelling, doing what we enjoy most. We wanted to create our own visual identity and offer couples an experience similar to watching a cinema movie—emotional, engaging, and authentic. From the beginning, we envisioned a path of constant evolution: to grow, improve, and elevate the quality of our productions year after year.
Before CabraCega, which professional or personal experiences contributed most to shaping your videography style?
What contributed most to our style is, first of all, our love for cinema—it is where much of our inspiration comes from. Secondly, the fact that we are very self-taught and proactive. We love to experiment, study, and continuously learn. Every day, we seek new approaches, techniques, and ways of storytelling that we can apply in our work.
What have been the biggest technical or logistical challenges you’ve faced (difficult lighting, venues with restrictions, unexpected weather, equipment issues)? How did you overcome these moments?
Although the project has only been exclusively dedicated to weddings for five years, our experience in audiovisual work spans over 20 years. This has prepared us well to handle challenges that arise, whether difficult lighting, unexpected weather, or logistical constraints. Of course, there are always unexpected situations, but we face them with calmness and a careful look around to find creative and practical solutions.
What role do teasers/highlights (e.g., shorter videos) play in your work — how do you balance speed of delivery with cinematic depth and quality?
Teasers play an important role in our work. They are a way to express creativity and reinforce our visual identity, while showcasing the quality of our cinematic eye. Speed and quality rarely go hand in hand, but we strive to find a balance. That’s why we like to deliver a small sneak peek within the first two or three days after the wedding, highlighting some of the most memorable moments. This allows couples to relive their day immediately and builds anticipation for the final film.
What client feedback has touched you the most — something that made you feel your work truly made an emotional difference for someone?
We always receive very positive messages, and many couples say that choosing us was one of the best decisions they made for their day. But the feedback that touches us most is when they tell us that the film transported them back to that moment and made them relive the emotions. That is exactly what we aim for—to create memories that remain alive.
What drives you and makes you keep filming weddings despite the demanding nature of the work?
What drives us is being able to do something we truly love, something that challenges us and helps us evolve. Above all, it is the opportunity to offer couples the experience of remembering their day in a timeless way, full of emotion and authenticity.
If you could choose a dream wedding to film (location, couple, style), what would it be and why?
We love couples who are connected, relaxed, and emotional, with a strong bond with family and friends. Of course, it would be a dream to film in one of Portugal’s palaces, like the Palace of Seteais. But the type of wedding that inspires us most is an intimate setting, casual-chic style, in an Alentejo estate or the Italian countryside, over an entire weekend, with time to truly live and capture every moment.
Is there something you dream of producing, experimenting with, or offering that you haven’t done yet in the realm of wedding videography?
We wouldn’t call it a dream, but we love challenges. A big challenge would be filming a wedding outside of Portugal, discovering new cultures and narratives through our lens.
How would you like to see CabraCega evolve in the coming years? Are there any upcoming projects you can share with us?
At the moment, there is no specific project in sight, but our wish is to continue growing and consolidating CABRACEGA as a strong and recognized brand in wedding videography, known for the authenticity, quality, and emotion of the stories we tell.
